Thr renewal with the client and the presence of all major campanies in the sector operating at T-Oil are the result of Vast’s operational efficiency, safety and reliability, reflecting the company’s strategic relevance to the sector in Brazil.
Vast Infraestrutura held the Semana Interna de Prevenção de Acidentes no Trabalho Portuário (SIPATP – Internal Week for Port Workplace Accident Prevention), from October 21 to 25, in collaboration with Otamerica, the partner responsible for terminal operations at Porto do Açu.

The event gathered teams from both companies to discuss the importance of occupational health and safety practices through lectures and activities covering essential topics, including safety regulations, accident prevention, harassment, first aid and wellness promotion.
Approximately 125 people participated in the event, which is held annually to raise awareness about workplace hazards for accident and occupational disease prevention.

This edition, held at Sesc Grussaí, in São João da Barra (RJ), had the objective of presenting the Terminal de Líquidos do Açu (TLA – Liquids Terminal of Açu). Vast had the opportunity to discuss and clarify local leaders’ questions about the new project’s impacts and reinforce the benefits it will bring to the region, particularly in terms of job creation. Attendees could engage with Vast’s HR, Engineering, Environmental and Health and Safety teams in an open space, encouraging everyone’s contribution.

Vast Infraestrutura and Wilson Sons were finalists in the Disruptive Collaboration category of the Cais AÇU Lab Award, an initiative organized by the Coletivo de Ações em Inovação e Sustentabilidade do Porto do Açu (CAIS – Collective of Actions for Innovation and Sustainability of Porto do Açu), with help from FAPERJ.
Vast Infraestrutura and Wilson Sons were finalists in the Disruptive Collaboration category of the Cais AÇU Lab Award, an initiative organized by the Coletivo de Ações em Inovação e Sustentabilidade do Porto do Açu (CAIS – Collective of Actions for Innovation and Sustainability of Porto do Açu), with help from FAPERJ.
The awarded project highlighted the collaboration between the two companies in the inauguration of an electrified tugboat docking station at Vast’s oil terminal in Porto do Açu, which took place in May. This structure allows tugboats operating at T-Oil to use onshore power supply when on standby, reducing fuel consumption and, consequently, carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
The project is a partnership between the Engineering and Sustainability teams of Vast Infraestrutura and Wilson Sons, reinforcing the company’s commitment to decarbonizing the maritime sector through partnerships and energy efficiency.

In September, Vast Infraestrutura completed 900 oil transshipment operations performed at its terminal in Porto do Açu. The milestone was reached with an operation that handled around 1 million barrels of oil.
The achievement reinforces all of Vast’s growth and consolidation, as well as the trust that the market places in its excellent services, which put safety and sustainability in first place.
Last week, between September 23 and 26, Vast Infraestrutura attended ROG.e 2024, the largest event of the oil and gas (O&G) sector in Latin America.
In addition to a stand shared with Porto do Açu, DOME and Efen, where the company displayed its leading role in oil transshipment operations in Brazil and promoted the Liquids Terminal of Açu (TLA), its expansion project, Vast was also present at ROG.e’s congress, with the participation of CEO Victor Snabaitis Bomfim on the panel “Special session – Infrastructure for liquid handling: uncertainties in the transition scenario”.
On the occasion, Bomfim reinforced Vast’s role in the market and the relevance that the TLA will have for Brazil’s liquid handling infrastructure.
Vast Infraestrutura and Repsol, the Spanish major of the oil & gas sector, have just signed a partnership to perform oil transshipment operations at T-Oil, Vast’s terminal located at Porto do Açu and a national highlight, being responsible, in the first semester of 2024, for 50.2% of Brazil’s crude oil exporsts from terminals.
With the addition of Repsol, Vast now has 11 clients in its portfolio. The presence of all of Brazil’s main oil operators on T-Oil strengthens Vast’s role as a strategic marketplace, offering the possibility for clients to combine cargoes for export, increasing the efficiency of their operations.
This achievement by Vast reaffirms the potential of the company and Porto do Açu as logistics platforms of excellence, prepared to support the growth of Brazilian crude oil exports.
On September 5, Vast Infraestrutura held another edition of the Contractors OHS Committee, the company’s annual event for reinforcing the Safety value with suppliers and partners and strengthening its Safety and Accident Prevention Culture.
Altogehther, 92 people attended, both in person and virtually, the meeting, which counted with the presence of Vast employees, teams from 12 of the contracted companies and the special participation of CNOOC International, Vast’s client that was invited to perform the opening safety moment.
At the event, it was discussed where Vast is on the safety maturity scale, where the company wants to be by the end of this year and what is needed to achieve this. There was also a presentation by Comportamento Psicologia do Trabalho consultancy on human factors in safety issues and how to mitigate risk behaviors.
This is Vast opening up increasingly safe paths for energy.
Vast Infraestrutura received at its oil terminal (T-Oil) the WS CASTOR, Wilson Sons’s tugboat that is part of the most sustainable and powerful fleet in Brazil. The vessel is the second of its kind to operate in Vast’s transshipment operations.
WS Castor meets the International Maritime Organization’s IMO Tier III standard, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 14%, helping to improve air quality. Furthermore, thanks to the berth inaugurated by Vast this year at T-Oil, whenever it’s not in service, the tug will be powered by onshore power supply.
At Vast, the concern for safety, efficiency and care for the environment extends to its partners and the company works with companies that have values and practices in line with its own.
