Petrobras and Açu Petróleo (a partnership between Prumo Logística and Oiltanking) signed a contract to carry out transshipment operations at the company’s Petroleum Terminal (T-OIL), located in the Port of Açu Complex.

The contract refers to 24 months and the execution of up to 48 operations with Suezmax and VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) vessels and can be renewed for the same period.

Petrobras currently operates only at the Angra dos Reis (TEBIG) and São Sebastião (TEBAR) terminals for oil exports.

“The signing of this contract with Petrobras reinforces the differentials of our terminal, in addition to highlighting our commitment to safety. We are the only private terminal in the country capable of receiving VLCC vessels, in addition to offering predictability of operation, which is carried out in the sheltered area, with efficiency and reliability. And these differentials are shown, each time, as the main decision point of our customers, such as Petrobras and Equinor”, said Victor Snabaitis Bomfim, CEO of Açu Petróleo.
Last week, Açu Petróleo signed a contract with Equinor to perform transshipment operations in the terminal trough 36 months, beginning in January 2020.

“For this year, is expected to movement twice the volume of 2018, when it reaches 40 million barrels in the year. In addition, we are developing a project for onshore storage, which offers new services for our customers, such as storage and blending”, said Bomfim.

Açu Petróleo signed a contract with Equinor to carry out transhipment operations at the Petroleum Terminal (T-OIL) of the Port of Açu Complex. With a duration of 36 months, counting from January 2020, the agreement will be destined for the relief of Equinor’s oil production in the Roncador field, allowing Equinor to operate, through Suezmax and VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) vessels, most of its oil exports from Brazil through the Açu Petróleo Terminal.

The entry of another important customer will further reinforce our commitment to excellence in safety and care for the environment in our operations ”, celebrates Victor Bomfim, president of Açu Petróleo.

Sustainability is one of the values that guides the Port of Açu Complex. Our actions are designed and unfolded in order to preserve the fauna and flora surrounding the project. Proof of this is our turtle monitoring program.

Last week, employees of Açu Petróleo, a subsidiary of Grupo Prumo, participated for the first time in the release of baby sea turtles. Approximately 40 employees, including the CEO of Açu Petróleo, Victor Bomfim, the Commercial Director, Eduardo Goulart and the Financial Director, Nicholas Burridge, went to Praia da Concha to accompany more than 20 puppies on their way to the sea. Enchanted by the activity, Marcia Macedo, Treasury Assistant at Açu Petróleo, points out how it was to participate in the initiative: “It was a unique experience to be able to get to know this project up close, which adds value to the conservation of the sea turtle species that exist around our terminal ”.

With the objective of making employees aware of socio-environmental issues, the turtle monitoring program has already carried out more than 822 thousand hatchlings release since the beginning of activities in 2008. For Açu Petróleo CEO, Victor Bonfim, the program represents the Açu’s commitment to the environment: “Having the privilege of participating, together with the Açu Petróleo team in the turtle hatchling release campaign, was a unique experience that I will remember. These are moments like this that underscore the responsibility we all have for the preservation of life and the environment”.
