On January 13th, we successfully concluded the DP vessel Daqing Knutsen’s first oil transshipment operation in Brazil, at our Terminal at Porto do Açu.

The vessel was in service of one of our clients, PetroChina International, a Chinese company with whom we signed a commercial agreement in 2022 and which is one of the largest oil and gas producers and distributors in the country, as well as a significant player in the global oil and gas industry.

The operation handled around 1 million barrels of oil and represented a major milestone for our client. The operational excellence, focus on safety and respect to the environment are always present in all of our operations.

Vast thanks PetroChina for its trust and is very honored to be the main logistic partner for its oil handling in Brazil. We are happy to be an active part of this achievement.

The Vast Terminal, at Porto do Açu, already handles more than 30% of Brazilian oil exports and is the only private terminal in the country that allows transshipment in sheltered and protected waters with VLCC-type vessels. These competitive advantages and our strategic location are fundamental factors that make us grow every day.

On the 17th of November, we carried out the Annual Drill of the Individual Emergency Plan. The exercise had the participation of customers, partners, the local community and also authorities such as the Fire Department, INEA, the Brazilian Navy and the Environment Department of São João da Barra.

Vast uses the Incident Command System as an emergency and crisis management methodology. And this was an excellent opportunity to mobilize our Response Organizational Structure (EOR) in Command Posts integrated between terminal and headquarters.

In addition, at this event we mobilized all the resources we had, such as people, equipment and vessels to contain and collect oil from our Emergency Response Base – BPAE, monitoring of fugitive spots with drone, beach monitoring/cleaning, rescue and treatment of oiled fauna, calling a doctor/nurse/rescuers to care for an injured employee, in addition to mobilizing the readiness of our Mutual Assistance Plan and Area Plan.

Safe operations for our employees, for the surrounding community and also for the environment is what we know how to do. Thus, we continue opening horizons for energy.

Vast reached the milestone of 500 oil transshipment operations carried out at its terminal at Porto do Açu. The operation that reached this relevant number moved 1 million barrels between a Suez vessel and a VLCC. Currently, Vast is already responsible for more than 30% of Brazilian oil exports. All this was only possible because we have dedicated people, who make it happen every day and move us to greater numbers. Operational excellence, safety and care for the environment are fundamental factors that make us grow more and more.

By establishing a pillar dedicated to the Environment in our Sustainability Policy, we assume a commitment to life and to the preservation of biodiversity in the region where we operate. Aves do Açu is yet another initiative for the sustainable development of our businesses and for an environmentally safe and conscious performance.

After a long journey in the identification, monitoring and evaluation of two species of terns, migratory birds threatened with extinction present in our terminal, we developed three pillars of action for the project: research; species management and environmental education and dissemination of knowledge.

Environmental responsibility flies along with our operations!

Trust and excellence: partnership between Vast and Equinor extended for another 5 years.

The contract with the Norwegian operator started in 2020 and was valid until January 2023, however, before its end, we renewed it for another 5 years.

The Vast Terminal is the only private terminal in the country that allows transshipment in sheltered and protected waters, with the capacity to operate with safety, predictability and respect for the environment.

The renewal with Equinor reinforces the market’s confidence in our operations, and the certainty that, with these competitive advantages and our strategic location, we are the safest and most effective option for exporting oil in Brazil.

Vast has safety as a fundamental and non-negotiable value. Therefore, promoting a culture of accident prevention is our commitment and we do not measure efforts to improve and guarantee a safe and healthy work environment for our team.

On September 16 we celebrated an important milestone: 1000 days of safe work! Result of teamwork and the commitment of each of our employees and contractors, who strictly follow our policies and perform their activities safely.

Last week, we expanded our partnership with TotalEnergies through the renewal of our contract for the oil transshipment services at our terminal in Porto do Açu. The contract provides for the transshipment operations involving Suezmax and VLCC vessels.

Another great Vast milestone.

On the 10th of June, we successfully and safely concluded CNOOC’s first oil transshipment operation at our Terminal, at Porto do Açu. CNOOC is one of the largest exploration and production companies in China and its oil production in Brazil is currently concentrated in the Búzios and Mero fields. We recently signed a long-term contract with CNOOC where Vast became the main logistics partner for the export of its oil production in Brazil. This was the first of many operations to come.

This first operation involved two Suezmax vessels and handled around 1 million barrels of oil.

We concluded the month of May with new records to celebrate.

We concluded the largest number of oil transshipment operations in a single month: there were 20 in total, reaching the mark of 602 thousand barrels per day. On this month, the Vast Terminal reached 46.5% of the market share, which represents almost 50% of the transshipment market share in Brazil. This milestone reinforces the market’s confidence in our operations. In total, since the beginning of activities, more than 400 million barrels have been handled.
