In April, Vast held the 3rd ConversAções meeting in São João da Barra. The event, which aims to promote dialogue and active listening in our area of operation, brought together the main leaders of the local community, employees of our company and experts from Braço Social consulting firm, our partners in the Aves do Açu Project.

Besides presenting a retrospective of the 2022 editions, important highlights of the company, the objectives of the meetings that will be held in 2023, Vast’s transparency channels and the actions of the Aves do Açu Project planned for this season, the event also held the “web of involvement”.

The activity aimed to integrate and engage the participants, as well as present the relationship of each one with the region of São João da Barra. The action consisted in organizing those present in a circle, in which each one told a little about themselves and, using a roll of yarn, passed the word to another, demonstrating how we are interconnected and that, together, we can contribute to our common environment.

On April 25, we received PRIO at Vast’s terminal, in the Porto do Açu, to accompany the 1st oil transshipment of our partnership! The operation involved a Suezmax vessel and a VLCC, handling about 1 million barrels.

On the occasion, the PRIO team was able to watch the operation up close, to get to know all of our infrastructure and to meet our operational team.

This week, Vast reached 600 oil transshipment operations carried out at our terminal in the Porto do Açu. The operation with which we reached this milestone was performed on behalf of our partner CNOOC and involved two Suezmax vessels, moving about 1 million barrels of oil.

The achievement demonstrates our operational excellence and reinforces the safety, reliability and care for the environment that are part of the routine of our company, which is currently responsible for more than 30% of Brazil’s oil exports. All of this is thanks to our teams, who make it happen every day and drive us to ever higher numbers.

We keep opening horizons for energy, on our way to 600 more operations!

On March 1, we held at our Terminal, in the Porto do Açu, the 3rd edition of the awards ceremony for the best performances in occupational health and safety (OHS) of partner companies, referring to the year 2022. The event is part of Vast’s Contractor OHS Recognition Program and aims to promote our accident prevention culture.

The ceremony was attended by 11 of our contractors, such as Zenith Maritima Marítima, Grupo Brasanitas and OceanPact Serviços Marítimos and some of our clients, such as Shell and Galp. The meeting brought a Safety Moment on the use of the Stop Work Authority, presented by Shell, and a lecture on Humanized Leadership, given by Eduardo Machado Homem, from Do Safety, a consulting company specialized in Safety and Environment Management and Culture.

At the end, the awards were handed out and the ranking was as follows: OceanPact in third place, with the bronze award; Brasanitas in second, with silver; and Zenith Marítima in first, taking the gold award.

We are happy to share that, on February 7, we signed a contract with PRIO to perform oil transshipment operations on behalf of the company at our Terminal, in the Porto do Açu.

The commercial agreement will last for 3 years and will enable the export of PRIO’s production in Albacora Leste through the use of Suezmax and VLCC vessels.

This milestone reinforces our commitment to offer services with safety, operational excellence, and care for the environment, as well as demonstrating the market’s growing confidence in our company, which is already responsible for handling more than 30% of Brazil’s oil exports and has the only private terminal in the country that allows transshipment operations in sheltered and protected waters with VLCC-type vessels.

We continue to open horizons for energy.

At Vast, operating with excellence and safety also means respecting the environment. That’s why on January 26 we held the 1st edition of the “Reconhecimento Ambiental”, in which we rewarded our partner companies for their engagement throughout 2022 in two of our projects: the “Agentes Multiplicadores”, which encourages workers to reflect on their responsibility in the conservation of the environment, and the “De olho no mar”, which trains employees of support vessels in our Terminal to recognize and register the appearance of marine mammals.

The event was attended by Oiltanking, Grupo Brasanitas, Grupo Ambipar, Wilson Sons, For Service, Digital Tecnologia, Sunset, OceanPact Serviços Marítimos, Zenith Maritima e Influência.

In the individual category of the “Agentes Multiplicadores”, Alexandre Lourenço, from OceanPact Serviços Marítimos, was awarded for having conducted the largest number of environmental meetings in 2022. In the collective categories, Oiltanking was awarded for the largest number of environmental meetings during the most months of the year, and Grupo Brasanitas for the highest level of engagement in comparison to the previous year.

As for the “De Olho no Mar” project, Alan Rodrigues, from Zenith Maritima, was awarded for the highest number of sightings and register of marine mammals while on board.

Last January, we signed an amendment to the existing contract to further strengthen our partnership for the oil transshipment operations of the company, which has been operating with Vast since mid 2022.
 
This is a milestone that proves our operational excellence and our success in implementing safety and environmental measures.
 
We are happy and proud of this renewal and ready to do even more!

On January 25th, we welcomed PETRONAS at Vast’s Terminal, in Porto do Açu, to follow the first oil transshipment of our partnership.

In the occasion, the PETRONAS team had the opportunity to know our facilities and watch closely the operation, that handled about 1 million barrels between two large vessels, a VLCC and a Suezmax.

On January 25th, our employees participated in the 2023 sea turtle release. The action is part of the Sea Turtle Monitoring Program, developed by Vast together with Porto do Açu Operações, Ferroport and GNA, and coordinated by Reserva Caruara.

56 Vast employees were present at the action, which, besides the possibility of seeing the hatchlings up close, offers participants the opportunity to follow their walk to the water and understand more about sea turtles’ life cycle.

The program, created in 2008, monitors 62km of coastline, from Pontal de Atafona, in São João da Barra, to Barra do Furado, in Campos dos Goytacazes, identifying existing nests, following the birth of the nestlings and offering care to the animals that need treatment. Altogether, the program has already released more than 1 million nestlings to the sea.

On January 18, we signed a contract with PETRONAS Petróleo Brasil Ltda. (PPBL), a wholly owned subsidiary of PETRONAS. The agreement stablishes the provision of oil transshipment services at our Terminal at Porto do Açu, making Vast the main logistics partner of PPBL for the export of oil in Brazil.

The contract with this new partner represents an important increase in our company’s client portfolio and demonstrates the market’s growing confidence in Vast, which is responsible for 30% of Brazil’s oil exports and has handled more than 540 million barrels since the beginning of its operations.

This achievement is the direct result of the dedication of our teams and our focus on operational excellence, safety, and respect for the environment.
