Aves do Açu project helds educational activities in São João da Barra

At the end of its 2023 season, the Aves do Açu project, Vast Infraestrutura’s 100% voluntary initiative, took significant steps in its work. The project, which aims at monitoring and preserving the trinta-réis bird species that frequent the company’s oil terminal at the Porto do Açu, organized two awareness-raising actions at Reserva Caruara: the workshop “Challenges in Combating Avian Influenza (H5N1) in 2023 from Different Perspectives” and the itinerant exhibition of Aves do Açu.

The workshop brought together representatives from all three levels of government, managers of Conservation Units, experts in wild birds, and leaders from the local community of São João da Barra for a discussion on the impact of avian influenza in Brazil, particularly in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro. This fostered an important exchange of knowledge and contributed to addressing the zoosanitary emergency.

As for the Aves do Açu exhibition, it aimed to educate visitors about the habits, behavior and reproductive cycle of the trinta-réis birds, as well as presenting the project and its important results.

These actions mirror the guidelines of our Sustainability Policy, affirming Vast’s commitment to the region where it operates.

Projeto Aves do Açu promove ações educativas em São João da Barra

Ao final de sua temporada de 2023, o projeto Aves do Açu, iniciativa 100% voluntária da Vast Infraestrutura, deu novos passos importantes em sua atuação. O projeto, que tem como objetivo monitorar e preservar as aves da espécie trinta-réis que frequentam o terminal de petróleo da empresa, no Porto do Açu, promoveu duas ações de sensibilização na Reserva Caruara: o workshop “Os desafios do enfrentamento à Gripe Aviária (H5N1) em 2023 sobre diferentes óticas” e a exposição itinerante do Aves do Açu.

O workshop reuniu representantes das três esferas do governo, gestores de Unidades de Conservação, especialistas em aves silvestres e lideranças da comunidade local de São João da Barra para um debate sobre o impacto da influenza aviária no Brasil, em especial na região norte fluminense, criando uma importante troca de conhecimentos e contribuindo para o enfrentamento da emergência zoosanitária.

Já a exposição do projeto Aves do Açu teve como objetivo educar os visitantes quanto aos hábitos, comportamentos e ciclo reprodutivo dos trinta-réis, além de apresentar o projeto e seus importantes resultados.

Essas ações refletem as diretrizes da Política de Sustentabilidade da Vast e faz parte do compromisso da empresa com a região onde atua.

Vast Infraestrutura receives New Aden vessel at T-Oil

In December 2023, Vast Infraestrutura received at its oil terminal (T-Oil), in Porto do Açu, the New Aden vessel at T-Oil, a VLCC equipped with an additional propulsion system.

Chartered by CNOOC, the chinese O&G company and Vast’s client, to carry out its oil transshipment operation at T-Oil, the vessel has engines powered by Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) and movable, retractable metallic sails that assist the ship in navigating more efficiently and with lower emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. According to the VLCC’s owner company, the use of retractable sails can result in a fuel savings of up to 10%.

The operation with the New Aden at T-Oil handled approximately 2 million barrels of oil and it is aligned with Vast’s values and concern for environmental care, principles which the company seeks in its partners as well.

Vast Infraestrutura recebe VLCC New Aden no T-Oil

Em dezembro de 2023, a Vast Infraestrutura recebeu em seu terminal de petróleo (T-Oil), no Porto do Açu, o navio New Aden, um VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) que conta com um sistema adicional de propulsão.

Afretada pela CNOOC, chinesa do setor de óleo e gás e cliente da Vast, para realizar sua operação de transbordo de petróleo no T-Oil, a embarcação conta com motores movidos a combustível marítimo do tipo VLSFO (Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil) e velas metálicas móveis e retráteis que auxiliam o navio a navegar com mais eficiência e, principalmente, com menor emissão de gases poluentes para a atmosfera, já que, segundo a empresa proprietária do VLCC, o uso das velas retráteis pode gerar uma economia de até 10% de combustível.

A operação com o New Aden no T-Oil movimentou cerca de 2 milhões de barris de petróleo e está em linha com os valores da Vast e com sua preocupação com o cuidado ao meio ambiente, princípios que a companhia busca também em suas parcerias.

Vast Infraestrutura held its 1st integrated SIPATP

Between November 6th and 10th, 2023, Vast Infraestrutura held its 1st Integrated Internal Week of Occupational Accident Prevention in Port Work (SIPATP, in the Portuguese abbreviation), along Oiltanking, contractor responsible for operating the comany’s oil terminal (T-Oil) at Porto do Açu.

The event, themed around building a Sustainable Safety Culture, brought together teams from both companies and team members from other contractors operating at T-Oil. The agenda of the week featured a series of activities addressing crucial topics for ensuring the health and safety of employees, such as ergonomics, safety during ship mooring, the Blue November campaign, flammable and fuel liquids, workplace harassment, safe maintenance, and auditory health.

A blood donation drive was also organized, facilitated by a bus from the region’s blood center that visited the terminal. The initiative was a success, resulting in a total of 27 new registrations in the donor database and 18 blood bags collected in just one day.

Vast Infraestrutura realiza sua 1ª SIPATP Integrada

Entre os dias 06 e 10 de novembro de 2023, a Vast Infraestrutura realizou a sua 1ª Semana Interna de Prevenção a Acidentes no Trabalho Portuário (SIPATP) integrada, em conjunto com a Oiltanking, contratada responsável pela operação do terminal de petróleo (T-Oil) da companhia, no Porto do Açu.

O evento, que teve como tema a construção de uma Cultura de Segurança Sustentável, reuniu as equipes das duas empresas e colaboradores das demais contratadas que atuam no T-Oil em uma série de ações que abordaram assuntos importantes para a garantia da saúde e segurança dos colaboradores, como ergonomia, segurança durante a amarração de navios, campanha do Novembro Azul, líquidos inflamáveis e combustíveis, assédio no ambiente de trabalho, manutenção segura e saúde auditiva.

Além disso, as empresas realizaram ainda um mutirão de doação de sangue, que aconteceu por meio de um ônibus do Hemocentro de Campos dos Goytacazes que foi até o terminal. A iniciativa foi um sucesso e, ao todo, a SIPATP da Vast e da Oiltanking gerou 27 novos cadastros no banco de doadores e 18 bolsas de sangue em apenas um dia.

Vast Infraestrutura receives 2023 Antaq Award

In November 2023, Vast Infraestrutura secured the 3rd place in the 2023 Antaq Award in the category of ‘Highest Environmental Performance Index (EPI)’ of the event, held by the Brazilian National Agency of Waterway Transportation.

The announcement was made by the regulatory agency at a ceremony held at the Port of Santos (SP) and the event was attended by Victor Snabaitis Bomfim, Vast’s CEO, Adriano Truffi Lima, Director of Sustainability, and Eduardo Pereira Goulart, Commercial Director.

The EPI is the main tool for monitoring and controlling environmental management in Brazilian port facilities, and in 2022, Vast had already secured the 12th position, a significant achievement for the company. But this year, Vast moved up 9 positions, ranking among the top three in the category.

“This recognition from Antaq is a reflection of our Sustainability Journey, through which we aim to be a reference in sustainability and best practices in our sector,” emphasizes Victor Snabaitis Bomfim.

Vast Infraestrutura recebe Prêmio Antaq 2023

Em novembro de 2023, a Vast Infraestrutura conquistou o 3º lugar no Prêmio Antaq, na categoria “Maior Índice de Desempenho Ambiental (IDA)” da premiação, promovida anualmente pela Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários.

O anúncio foi feito pela agência reguladora em uma cerimônia realizada no Porto de Santos (SP) e o evento contou com a presença de Victor Snabaitis Bomfim, CEO da Vast, Adriano Truffi Lima, Diretor de Sustentabilidade, e Eduardo Pereira Goulart, Diretor Comercial.

O IDA é a principal ferramenta de acompanhamento e controle de gestão ambiental em instalações portuárias brasileiras e, em 2022, a Vast já havia alcançado o 12º lugar, posição relevante para a empresa. Mas, no último ano, a companhia subiu 9 posições, ficando entre os três melhores terminais na categoria.

“Esse reconhecimento da Antaq é reflexo da nossa Jornada de Sustentabilidade, pela qual buscamos ser referência em sustentabilidade e melhores práticas em nosso segmento”, reforça Victor Snabaitis Bomfim.

Vast Infraestrutura is national leader in the handling and export of crude oil in Brazil

In 2023, Vast Infraestrutura was a national leader in the handling and export of crude oil in Brazil, according to data from the Waterway Statistics released in November by ANTAQ (the Brazilian National Agency for Waterway Transportation). The study shows that Vast ranked 1st in oil export and 2nd in crude oil handling.

Altogether, in the first nine months of 2023, the company’s terminal exported 21.76 million tons of oil, an amount equivalent to a 44.1% growth compared to the same period in 2022 and representing a 44% market share for Vast. As for the handling, it amounted to 43.2 million tons, 42.7% more than in 2022.

The numbers demonstrate the strength that the company has been building in Brazil and the confidence that the market places in Vast.

Em 2023, a Vast Infraestrutura foi destaque nacional na movimentação e exportação de óleo cru no Brasil, de acordo com dados do Estatístico Aquaviário divulgado em novembro do mesmo ano pela Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários (ANTAQ). O estudo mostra que a Vast ficou em 1º lugar na exportação de petróleo e em 2º na movimentação de óleo cru.

Ao todo, nos primeiros nove meses de 2023, o terminal da empresa exportou 21,76 milhões de toneladas de petróleo, valor que é o equivalente a um crescimento de 44,1% em relação ao mesmo período de 2022 e que representa um market share de 44% por parte da Vast. Já a movimentação, foi de 43,2 milhões de toneladas, 42,7% a mais que em 2022.

Os números demonstram a robustez que a companhia vem construindo no cenário brasileiro e a confiança que o mercado vem depositando na Vast.
