Vast Infraestrutura signs agreements for studies on storage project at Porto do Açu

Throughout 2023, Vast Infraestrutura signed four memorandum of undersanding (MoUs) with major oil and gas companies to carry out studies on oil storage at Porto do Açu, as part of its SPOT Project, which foresees the construction of the 1st private oil storage park in Brazil.

The agreements establish joint studies on storage opportunities, and other companies can still join the project, which involves a planned investment of R$2.5 billion. The project includes the construction of 12 tanks with a total capacity of 5.7 million barrels of oil and two pipelines that will connect Vast’s terminal to the oil pipeline network in the Southeast region of Brazil.

“These agreements are another step in consolidating Vast Infraestrutura’s terminal as a hub for oil handling and exportation, allowing an expansion of its service offerings as a liquid logistics operator,” emphasizes Victor Snabaitis Bomfim, Vast’s CEO.

Vast Infraestrutura assina acordos para estudos de projeto de tancagem no Porto do Açu

Ao longo do ano de 2023, a Vast Infraestrutura assinou quatro memorandos de entendimento com grandes empresas do setor de óleo e gás para a realização de estudos de tancagem de petróleo no Porto do Açu, como parte do seu Projeto SPOT, que prevê a construção do 1º parque privado de estocagem de petróleo do Brasil.

Os memorandos estabelecem estudos conjuntos de oportunidades de armazenagem e outras empresas ainda podem aderir ao projeto, que prevê investimento de R$ 2,5 bilhões e consiste na construção de 12 tanques com capacidade total de 5,7 milhões de barris de petróleo e dois oleodutos, que vão conectar o terminal da Vast à malha de dutos de petróleo da região Sudeste.

“Esses acordos são mais um passo na consolidação do Terminal da Vast Infraestrutura como um hub de movimentação e exportação de petróleo e permitirá uma ampliação de sua oferta de serviços como operadora logística de líquidos”, destaca Victor Snabaitis Bomfim, CEO da Vast.

Vast Infraestrutura receives GHG Protocol Gold Seal for the second consecutive year

In October 2023, Vast Infraestrutura received, for the second consecutive year, the GHG Protocol Gold Seal for the verification of its greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) inventory. This achievement reflects the company’s growth in this area and its commitment to reducing emissions.

Having started the monitoring of GHG emissions in its operations in 2019, since 2022, when the company received the Gold Seal for the first time, Vast also submits it to the GHG Protocol system. In 2023, however, the accomplishment was even more significant, since, unlike the previous year, all three scopes established by the system were encompassed.

Although it has always monitored the Scope 3, which refers to the indirect emissions from its operations, Vast did not audited and validated it, since it refers to emissions not directly emitted by the company, but by its suppliers.

Nevertheless, the growth and maturity of the company have enabled it to achieve this milestone, and now Vast also reports emissions from the third scope, which currently accounts for 99% of its inventory.

Vast Infraestrutura recebe Selo Ouro da GHG Protocol pelo segundo ano consecutivo

Em outubro de 2023, a Vast Infraestrutura recebeu, pelo segundo ano consecutivo, o Selo Ouro da GHG Protocol pela verificação do seu inventário de emissões de gases de efeito estufa (GEE). A conquista reflete o amadurecimento da empresa no tema e o seu empenho na redução de emissões.

Tendo iniciado o monitoramento das emissões de GEE em suas operações em 2019, desde 2022, quando recebeu o Selo Ouro pela primeira vez, a Vast também o submete ao sistema do GHG Protocol. Em 2023, no entanto, a conquista do selo foi ainda mais relevante, já que, diferente do ano anterior, foram avaliados todos os três escopos estabelecidos pelo sistema.

Apesar de sempre ter monitorado o Escopo 3, referente às emissões indiretas das operações da companhia e o único que ainda não era avaliado, a Vast ainda não realizava sua auditoria e validação por ele se referir às emissões não emitidas pela própria empresa, mas por seus fornecedores.

No entanto, o crescimento e o amadurecimento da Vast permitiram esse avanço e agora a companhia também reporta as emissões do terceiro escopo, que hoje correspondem a 99% do seu inventário.

Vast Infraestrutura completes 700 operations at T-Oil

In October 2023, Vast Infraestrutura reached a total of 700 oil transshipment operations held at its terminal (T-Oil) in Porto do Açu. This operation was carried out o behalf of Shell and involved a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) type vessel and a Suezmax, handling approximately 1 million barrels of oil.

The milestone reflects the strength and operational excellence of the company, which reached the number of 600 operations only five months earlier, back in May of the same year. Altogether, through the first nine months of 2023, Vast handled around 561 Kbpd.

With a licensed capacity to handle up to 1.2 Mbpd, the company ensures a safe, reliable service with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, making our company responsible for handling nearly 40% of all of Brazil’s oil exports.

Vast Infraestrutura completa 700 operações realizadas no T-Oil

Em outubro de 2023, a Vast Infraestrutura atingiu o número de 700 operações de transbordo de petróleo realizadas em seu terminal, o T-Oil, no Porto do Açu. A operação foi realizada a serviço da Shell e envolveu um navio do tipo VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) e um Suezmax, movimentando cerca de 1 milhão de barris de petróleo.

O marco reflete a robustez e a excelência operacional da empresa, que atingiu a marca de 600 operações apenas cinco meses antes, em maio do mesmo ano. Ao todo, ao longo dos primeiros nove meses de 2023, a companhia movimentou cerca de 561 Kbpd.

Com capacidade licenciada para movimentar até 1,2 Mbpd, a Vast garante um serviço seguro, confiável e sempre preocupado com o meio ambiente, o que faz da empresa responsável por movimentar quase 40% de toda a exportação de petróleo do Brasil.

Vast Infraestrutura holds 4th edition of ConversAções

In September 13th 2023, Vast Infraestrutura held the 4th edition of ConversAções, a proprietary event specifically focused on engaging with the local community in its operational area, in São João da Barra (Rio de Janeiro).

The gathering took place at the Instituto Federal Fluminense (IFF) and brought together, besides company employees, local leaders, representatives from universities and municipal authorities, public officials such as the Navy and Fire Department, and members of regional conservation units for another round of dialogue and active listening.

The event agenda included a presentation of some of the company’s key socio-environmental initiatives in the region, and a survey to update Vast’s material topics.

During the occasion, Vast’s team, along with the Ondas Sustentáveis consultancy, heard from the community and captured their perceptions regarding the topics presented to participants, who were able to evaluate and classify the level of priority that they believe each theme should have. The survey results were taken into account in the update process of the company’s material topics.

Vast Infraestrutura realiza 4ª edição do ConversAções

No dia 13/09/23, a Vast Infraestrutura realizou a 4ª edição do ConversAções, evento proprietário voltado para o relacionamento com a comunidade local da área de atuação da empresa, em São João da Barra (RJ).

O encontro aconteceu no Instituto Federal Fluminense (IFF) do município e reuniu, além de colaboradores da companhia, lideranças locais, representantes de universidades e das secretarias municipais da cidade, agentes do poder público, como a Marinha e o Corpo de Bombeiros, e membros de unidades de conservação regionais para mais uma rodada de diálogo e escuta ativa.

A programação do evento contou com a apresentação de devolutivas de algumas das principais iniciativas de responsabilidade socioambiental da Vast na região e com a aplicação de uma consulta para a atualização dos temas materiais da empresa.

Na ocasião, a equipe da Vast, junto com a consultoria Ondas Sustentáveis, ouviu a comunidade e captou suas percepções quanto aos temas materiais apresentados aos participantes, que puderam avaliar e classificar o nível de prioridade que acreditam que cada um deles deve ter. Os resultados da consulta foram levados em consideração na atualização da matriz de materialidade da Vast.
