Vast Infraestrutura conducts pioneering test with Be8 BeVant® in tugboat at Porto do Açu
Vast Infraestrutura, in partnership with Wilson Sons and Ferroport, performed the first refueling with Be8 BeVant® biofuel in a tugboat at Porto do Açu, advancing concrete initiatives for the decarbonization of port operations.
The fuel, developed by Be8, has the potential to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 99% compared to conventional marine diesel, and can be used without the need for engine modifications.
The initiative is part of Vast’s strategy to promote the use of lower carbon intensity fuels in the maritime sector, contributing to more energy-efficient operations aligned with energy transition demands.
