Açu Petróleo and Total signed a contract

Açu Petróleo and the oil company Total signed a contract to carry out double banking operations at the company’s terminal, in Porto do Açu, located in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

The contract will primarily serve the Lapa, Mero, Berbigão and Sururu fields, located in the Santos Basin, using Suezmax and VLCC vessels. With a depth of 25 meters, the Açu Petróleo terminal is the only Brazilian private terminal qualified to receive VLCC class vessels, which have a storage capacity of up to 2 million barrels of crude oil.

“We believe that this important milestone reinforces, once again, the market’s confidence in Açu Petróleo as the company to offer the most efficient logistic solution for oil movement in the South Atlantic region. We are committed to offering infrastructure and oil movement services in a safe, efficient and sustainable way for our customers ”, says Victor Snabaitis Bomfim, Açu Petróleo’s CEO.

Since it started operating in 2016, 140 million barrels of oil have been operated at the Açu Petróleo terminal. It should be noted that the movement carried out in 2019 was 72 million barrels of oil. In addition to Total, Galp, Petrobras, Repsol, Shell and Equinor also operate through the Terminal.
